XG not sending any mails

I'm not sure how I should configure outgoing mail on XG. I have tried so many things: Legacy mode, MTA mode, smart host but it seems that I can't get any mails out.

When in MTA mode in mail spool every single mail is Failed. This is true for notifications and also for test mails sent from notification.

Even when I try to send everything to our internal smarthost (via an internal IP-address on the other side of an IPSEC tunnel) that we usually use from any scanner inside organization ->  send mail to internal smtp server which in turn sends to O365 using an email connector.

Tried to setup this internal server as smarthost but again, is doesn't seem that any mail is being sent. Also I don't seem to find the correct logfile to see why it failed.

The UTM that we have switched from had no problems sending any mails out using the same internet connections, so I don't think it's an ISP blocking issue.
