XGv18 Firewall policy for VoIP QOS disconnecting phone system

I'm adding a very simple VOIP Guarantee firewall policy and it's causing the phone system to disconnect.  The VOIP VLAN does not terminate on the firewall but the core routing switch however the firewall policy I identify the source traffic by the VOIP VLAN subnet and simply just add the VOIP Guarantee traffic shaping rule.  There is nothing else, no additional security and I even placed the policy on top.  The moment this policy is activated all phones drop connection to the cloud system.  It is the Telus Business Connect (Ring Central) service.  A routing rule already exists on the firewall to direct all traffic to the VOIP VLAN to the core switch and the phones do work fine without the rule (besides the high jitter which is why we want QOS).  Any suggestions?

Default VLAN - 10.0.1.0 (the firewall resides here)
VOIP VLAN - 10.0.2.0

  • Hi,

you might like to build your own policy with realistic values because the values in the default policy are very large and please remember they are in Bytes not bits.

I hav home VoIP (2) and setup a couple of policies which I apply via application control.

Also I would make the policy shared with the large amounts of bandwidth you have assigned.
