Cyberoam hardware and XG software Bios update

I have an CR300 iNG, installed home XG on it, works good, but when i reboot the image from console access gets scrambled unless i set console speed to 9600, but then i have to switch to 38400 again to see the software loader and boot.

Is there a bios update for the hardware that can solve this?

Also the CR300 ing has 10 gig ports but only the six on the motherboard work in the XG software, the sort of add on card ports do show up in the networking page but do not work (no connection when plugged in).

Last question, I'd like to use jumbo frames between two subnets, I tested this, but the nics can only go to 4k frames, is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

Bart

Hi Bart, Thanks for reaching out to Sophos Community.

The BAUD rate issue you're facing is probably because your migrated CR300iNG would still be running CRLoader instead of SFLoader. CRLoader would need BAUD rate 9600. You can get in touch with our support team and they'll help you upgrade the loader on the appliance.

Coming to your second query on 10 gig ports, Do they show up in the CLI, you can verify by ifconfig.

Jumbo frames are supported from v18 and it supports up to 9000 MTU. If you are running v18 and MTU is increased on the same Port, verify with your connected peer device as well for any bottlenecks.

  • Hi Devesh, Thanks for the answers.

Th Baud rate of 38400 works for the loader (SF loader) but not for the post / bios. There I've got to use 9600. I've been wondering if there is a bios update that fixes this. Maybe former Cyberoam colleagues knows something about this and a update makes this possible on 38400.

For the 4 of the 10 gig ports, yes they are visible in cli. Just not detecting media, so maybe a driver update would fix this.

I know that Jumbo frames are possible in v18, I've set them to 9K and the are not working, setting them to a MTU of 4088 works, any larger and no response from the appliance. I was wondering if this is a hardware limit on the built in nics, or a driver issue.

Just to be complete, the CR300 is not migrated or upgraded to SFOS but reinstalled with the iso of v18.0.0.1. I've removed the SD card and just using the HDD/SDD. I'm running latest 18.0.0.4 now.

    Thanks.
