VPN tunnel keep-alive

Our IPSec XG 230 VPN tunnel for the Other firewall does not remain active, because when there is no activity, it closes the tunnel. To overcome this, we had to implement a ping constant, we would like to know if you can overcome this?

our ipsec keep alive, dead peer detection time policy settings

  • Hi ,

May I know which firewall you are using at remote end?

    • In the Sophos XG there is no such option which closes tunnel based on data transfer. However, if XG230 is configured as a responder, set it as a initiator and enable rekey. So if peer disconnect the tunnel XG will try to reinitiate.
