WiFi issues with Vorwerk VR300

Hi all,

well...how to start...

I had UTM before with 2x APX740, 1x AP55 and 1x AP55C working fine with my vacuum cleaner Vorwerk VR300.

After migration to XG, setting all new system, with exactly the same APs, SSIDs, security setting and so on, my vacuum cleaner did not connected back to network, every other stuff like Raspberrys, mobile phones, TVs did worked fine.

But, now the weird thing.

When you reset Vorwerk, it acts as WiFi AP, with the app you connect to vacuum cleaner and set up it to connect to wifi.

When im running on UTM, it works, phone connects to robot, finds wifi, connects to wifi, works, on first try (reseted about 6 times to verify)

When im running on XG, there is problem to find robots WiFi network (no matter which channels are set APs to), and if you fing VR robot network...im completely unable to connect to it and do on with setup...

What the hell is transmitting or doing WiFi on XG?

  • So, if you take the robot outside awy from the APs you should be able to connect to it on its wifi (SSID) and then bring it back inside to configure it to use your SSIDs.

What you don't say and the VR300 website doesn't say is, are you using 2,4ghz for your SSID for the robot?

  • That is what i also thought...

I took it out into car, driven from home, got connected from phone directly to robot, driven back home still connected, took it inside and clicked again to search for networks (outside it worked), while still connected to robot and i got communication error, seems like huge interferrence there, robot is on channel 1, APs manually set to whatever different from 1...

So that was also without success...
