Problem with existing users >"user@xyz" and "user@zyx"

Hello,

today I try to manually add a new SSL-VPN User (i use STAS for AD sync for other things). The user "user@domain.local" already exists. So I created a new user with username "user" (without "@..."). When I use the same password for both, and try to login on the userportal with the new credentials, I always get the login for the user "user@domain.local" !! Only when I use a different password, I will be able to get access to the correct user Portal with the aviable Windows Client Download (SSL-VPN).

So with a different password i can login, to correct User portal and download the client with the configuration.I can successfully install it and connect the VPN connection.

Now I can change the password to the same from the "user@domain.local" user, and it still works.
But now I can't look in again to the user portal. Everytime I use the username "User", I will be logged in in to the user portal from "user@domain.local"

So it seems to be a bug! Same username before "@" with the same password doesn't work!

Can you fix that!?

  • Navigate to CONFIGURE > Authentication > Services and verify "User portal authentication methods"

    "Selected authentication server"
will be checked on Top to bottom priority and if your AD server is on top then XG will first check with AD for "user" authentication and as you have same password for AD and local user, user will get login through AD.

Try to keep "Local" on top for "User portal authentication methods" and see if it works.

  • Yes that works! Great! Thank you!
