Dual stack IP Host

Hello All,

I am an experienced user of UTM9 but still unfamiliar with XG. While creating a new host in UTM9 it's possible to add both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for that host.
In XG this is not possible. Only IPv4 or IPv6 is allowed. How can I add a dual stack host in XG?
Thanks,
Ed.

  • Hi,

the bad news is you can't do it the same way as in the UTM.

XG treats IP4 and IPv6 as two seperate firewalls. You have to create two identities for each device and setup seperate rules. The current version of XG, v18.0.4 does not support FQDNs in IPv6 which makes firewall rules difficult at times.
