XG Firewall Home fails to reconnect to WAN

Hi all,

I know there are numerous others stating they're having trouble reconnecting to the WAN after an internet outage, but I thought I'd throw my experience in here too in case it's of any use.  Here are the facts:

  • SFOS 18.0.3 MR-3
  • Cable modem set to bridge mode
  • ISP requires DHCP
  • By unplugging and plugging in the coax cable, Sophos will not reconnect
  • Rebooting the modem does not help
  • To regain internet access, I either need to reboot Sophos XG, or edit and save the WAN interface settings
