XG330 - SFOS 18.0.3 - DHCP is only working with a specific Firewall rule

Dear all,

Need some support from you...

We have a XG330 which does very well the job but one rule is driving some questions...

As soon as we desactivate an allowed rule which does LAN to LAN with any Source & Destination, with NAT rule with Mask, it just stopping giving DHCP lease to LAN users.

Interestingly, I tried to recreate the same rule but it makes no difference. No DHCP.

Any idea why ?

Regards

Sam

  • Hi,

check that you have enable relay ticked if you are only applying DHCP to one interface with users expected to pickup an address from any interface.

  • Hi rfcat_vk,

Thnaks for your message. I cannot activate "Accept client request via relay" as it says that the interface should not be in the same network than my DHCP server and it is the case.

On top, I don't need from any other interface, I just need that my Lan provides DHCP and when I rule is off, it just stop giving DHCP. Any other ideo please ?

  • Hi,

there is something wrong with your interface setup, because a firewall rule will not have any affect on allocation of DHCP addresses.

Please post a screenshot of your interface configuration and the DHCP server. Sounds like the server is on the wrong interface.
