New user here. I am a home user trying to improve my firewall but I am an absolute novice. I am trying different options, like Opnsense and Untangle, and now Sophos XG. Setting up the former two firewalls was dead simple but I am having a bear of a time getting Sophos to work :-(
I have installed Sophos XG on my mini PC , and I can log in via putty with the login credentials that I specified during initial set-up. However, when I try to log in via the web GUI, I get the message "login failed"
Changing the admin password via putty works, but the new password only works in the console. No matter what I choose, login fails in the web GUI all the time.
What did I check after reading up on this issue:
1) My keyboard settings in the console are the same as in the web gui, so the special characters are the same.
2) I reset the default web admin certificate via the console
No success so far...
What can I do to remedy this?
