Sophos XG 210 rev.2 hardware failure 3 out of 4

Hello everyone,

just want to check if there are more known hardware problems with the XG 210 rev.2 

I am know in the process of a 3e RMA (from a total of 4) XG 210

3e RMA within 6 months and these 3 devices are all on different locations.

Devices are exactly 4 years old, I should have replaced them if Sophos was in time with there new series of hardware firewalls

These are my XG 210 configs:

  • 2 XG single mode
  • 1 XG HA Cluster

All the problems starts with being unable to connect to the webinterface.

So for that the only solution is switch OFF and ON

Some of the failure messages on the device or web-interface:

  • display: "system protection"
  • webui: Bad Gateway The proxy server received an invalid response from upstream server.

And 1 time I was lucky with problem on the HA Cluster because that error was: 

attached VGA screen message "select boot device or insert boot"

Is this just bad luck?

    thanks for your reply but I just want to know if there are more users with this product and having same kind of problems.

    This morning I have replaced the unit, probably just in time because there was now the error message: 

    webinterface: Internal Server Error

    Hello SGH,

    So in your case, since you have been making several RMAs DEV is asking to get these devices to send to them so they can investigate if there is a trend, in your case usually the Internal Server Error has to do with the Hard drive corrupting more likely the database.

    update on my own question in this discussion.

    maybe some of you can check if they have the same serial number and let me know if the unit is replaced.

    I will put the 7 first characters of the serial number, production of unit should be year 2016

    C22042P.......
    C22042Q......
    C22042V.......

    The only thing I know about Sophos serial numbers 
    C22 = XG 210 version 2
    C23 = XG 210 version 3
