Sophos SSL VPN installer won't run on latest Windows branch

On a brand new fresh install of Windows 10, branch 2004 (OS build 19041.572), the Sophos SSL VPN "Client and Configuration" will not install. It just says "This App cannot run on your PC". I have tried:

-Various compatibility modes

-"Unblocking" the app in properties

-Running as admin

I also tried installing OpenVPN separately and downloading config, this resulted in the installer failing. I tried downloading "for other OS's" to get the .ovpn file and this also failed, with "Could not generate config file. Please contact your Administrator."

Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hello,

I had a similar issue before.

Tried to install it in different PCs and always got the "This App can't run on your PC", check if your .exe size is 0 bytes.

In my case, all the files sizes from the SSL VPN tab on the User Portal were 0 bytes and that happened because the pattern for all the modules (including SSLVPN Clients) failed to download and install.

I went to System Services > Services and restarted all of them.

I hope you have solved your issue by now.
