Dual WAN - Disable NAT on one interface

Hi - Looking for help/suggestions

Live in rural UK so I have ADSL with static IP but this is very slow although otherwise can run servers behind this and access without issue

I have bought a Huawei B535 4G modem and connected this as dual WAN however there is no bridge mode on the router and I would like to prevent a double NAT situation on this

Is there an easy way to accomplish this??

Thanks and apologies for lack of network knowledge!

  • Hi ,

Mobile providers will provide a private IP Address so you can surf the net and stop others from finding your device.

Static IP SIMs configure a one-to-one NAT for the Public IP (to and from the Privat IP that is assigned to your 4G Connection) you have been provided, this will allow inbound and outbound access, the mobile provider then does the NATting for you, so your router will not be required for this, except to NAT using the Private IP Address assigned..

With normal data SIMs, you will be unable to connect in from the internet due to the way that UK mobile providers create their networks. these connections are outbound only.

    I hope this makes sense.
