Migrate Ap's to new XG

Hi

Currently sat in the office scratching my head with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I am migrating my company from an XG115 to an XG230. As far as the firewall migration itself is going, so far, so good...

However, I have now come to the wi-fi. I need to dis-associate the AP's from the XG115 so they can be adopted by the XG230.

What is the best way to do this?

So far I have deleted one of the AP's from the XG115 but that didn't make it appear on the XG230.

I then held down the little pin hole button for 20 seconds in an attempt to factory reset, however this doesn't appear to have helped. The AP in question appears to be just stuck in a reboot loop.

How do I factory reset AP55C's? (i have 2).

Not sure if it matters but the old XG and the new XG are both connected to the network right now, I simply gave the old XG a different LAN IP.

Cheers

  • Hello Ben,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

To flash the AP please check this KB.

Did you remove the AP from the XG115 before connecting them to the XG 230, if not, try connecting them again to the XG 115 reconfigure there, and then remove, also make sure the XG 230 is running the same Firmware and pattern updates are the same.

If that doesn't work try the KB mentioned above, which should help you solve the issue!
