My fellow Etisalat sufferer
I have yet to see any ONT provided by Etisalat which does the pppoe for you and provides dhcp to your Wan.
Maybe, you have logged into the Huewai provided Fiber box, were able to set up pppoe - and then after a few hours found Etisalat rewrote all your config with the old one (They use Huawei proprietary TR69)
On a second note (if Etisalat has indeed provided you with dhcp), whenever you see the timeouts, see if you can ping 8.8.8.8(or any cloud dns). Etisalat keeps on rotating proxies and some are not good. Etisalat itself would detect and put you on correct proxy. Till it does that you will see timeouts (and it will self heal). Aksing you to do ping at the time of timeouts only. Their DNS is also roundrobin though we use 213.42.42.42 (Do you?)
Also, I hope you have workaround with their infamous uPnP and Vlan issues.
Rfcat - Thanks for help but this poster has Etisalat specific issues. I too suffer - but once I get hang of how things work, I accept to live with it.
PS - Why your ONT is 100mbps? Etisalat changed that to new ones which are 1GB. Which package are you on- Home or Business ?
Based on what you are saying you do not need a Nat on your XG. The failing bit sounds like your isp has issues with their gateway router. You best follow up wit them.

NAT in V18 would help in case of such problems. If you are running V18, simply enable the default SNAT on the bottom of the NAT window.

Please let me try to understand your answer. You are advising a double Nat might fix his website access, but if he is using the web proxy it will not go through the Nat, correct?

Can you try to (temporarily) set your MTU size to 1250 on the PPPoE interface? Chances are high it might work after that.
After implementing PPPoE we usually do several pings with different framesizes which quickly show the max MTU on the link.
Fragmentation still is a thing on XG...
Basically a SNAT will not "harm". SNAT is something, this will properly not fix the root cause but can fix many problems in the own network.

He has changed from PPPoE to DHCP, so changing MTU on PPPoE will not be effective, but the one thing he does not show is the MTU setting on his WAN with new settings.
