VI-18.01_MR-1-Build396.KVM-396.zip goes into Failsafe , Reason: Unable to apply Firewall Rules

Hi Guys,
Testing version 18 build 396 on Eve-ng. Installation goes fine, but after Rebooting goes into Failsafe

Installation steps:
sophosxg-fw-396# unzip VI-18.0.1_MR-1-Build396.KVM-396.zip

allocated
4 cores
8192 Gb Ram
90 G HSpace

then

 mv PRIMARY-DISK.qcow2 virtioa.qcow2
 mv AUXILIARY-DISK.qcow2 virtiob.qcow2

Install went thru, but after reboot, goes directly into >failsafe

How can I fix this problem.

    Hi,

    I would suspect you either have a missing NIC or your disk is showing some faults. Also XG only uses one disk.

    Hi rfcat,

    SFLoader / Troubleshoot / Diskcheck  => ( no bad blocks )

    rebooted.

    getting the msg:


    qemu-system-x86_64: virtio_ioport_write: unexpected address 0x17 value 0xf0  qemu-system-x86_64: virtio0g


    then it goes back, again to :

    Loading firstboot configuration
    Installing default config


    so I'm still stuck.

    Hi,

    still sounds like a NIC error. Maybe setup a connection in the VM manager to a new NIC.

    Golden TIP !

    QEMU Nic was set to ( virtio-net-pci )

    after your valuable suggestion, changed it to

    QEMU Nic : tpl(virtio-net-pci)

    Now, it's not going into >failsafe

    So I hope that helps anyone setting um a Sophos XG Build396 in Eve-Ng.

        Please try after some time. System is initializing.
