Usage reports - Current usage or daily usage

Hi, I'd lke to know how to get some sight into current activity on the firewall.

There is such a nice but useless graph on the dashboard and in this case I'd like to know what caused the recent peak. Also I have no clue what 3,817.99M means here. Hits? Bytes? Packets?

How can I view live bandwidth usage for IP or user?

And as we always have issues with MS Windows Update clients downloading massively from Microsoft servers, I identified some IP in the webfilter logs and thought, well lets see how much stuff they downloaded there today. I failed the task - the report shows nothing. also for the past days - nothing. How can that be?

Nothing reported:

  • Hi Dave,

I  reviewed my XG which uses cientless to identify devices on the networks. I found a number of my devices were showg NA in that report. Further investigation showed

1/. I had not created a clienteles userid for the device

2/. one device I have not corrected its DHCP settings.

3/. 0.0.0.0 and the external interface address also showed as 'NA'

In summary 'NA' means that the device has not ben identifies to your XG.

    Regards

    Ian

  • I guess my issue is I can do a simple scan and get information back on the devices connecting to my network.  I should not have to input all my devices at a minimal I should be able to get the host name.  Can't image this on an enterprise level to not have any details.

    Thanks for taking a look!

  • Username in XG reporting means the IP addresses, which XG can reference to a actual user. A user can be defined by the Clientless user (Map between IP and a username), AD Authentication (STAS, NTLM, Kerberos etc.) User ID (Endpoint with Heartbeat), WPA2 Enterprise and other methods.

If this is not possible, the IP will be shown as "NA".
