Upgrade to X18 MR1

So i was one of the unlucky ones that installed the 18 mr1 as soon as it got available for everyone not soon after that it was pulled back by Sophos (and i had to go on a trip to one of our datacenters to revive on of our XG-210's)

Since i didn't really read negative things about the newly released 18 MR1 version i decided to update one of our XG-210 today: it downloaded the MR1 release and as soon as i clicked install the Firewall was never reachable again.... so i guess i again have to take a trip to our datacenter again this is the fourth time in a row that i can't update an XG-210 without experiencing major issues (second trip to the datacenter)

Anyone else experiencing this kind of issues with Sophos Firmware updates?

  • Hello Pascal,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the upgrade.

Please check if the XG was actually updated and it is up and running, if it is the case, please check the dgd.log to see if for some reason the XG can't reach the modem. This might be the case.

    Regards,

  • So i'm at the location now, the system seems crashed (blank blue screen on front) , after a reboot it succesfully booted and showed MR1 as version.

I did some digging into the logs and so far they are not really helpfull:
