Diagnostic reports vary over a day

Hi folks,

this morning I downloaded Apple updates to my iPad and iPhone, the diagnostic graph at the time showed 53mb/s download. Now the graph (today or last 48 hours) shows a 43mb/s download. The initial download had a peak and a shoulder value shown, now there is no shoulder value.

Tomorrow's daily report will be interesting because on past reporting I loose more data download.

I will check the CM and see what it shows for the downloads.

Ian

Update:- CM does not provide a throughput speed, just hits or bytes but no bits/bytes per second.

  • yeah I think it rounds off the value the longer the time duration. something I disagree with. You'd like it to always reflect the high as the high, not some rounded off number the longer the time period spans.

and yeah, to fix your 3 reports a day you have to toggle the time zone to something else and then back

  • Hi Ryan,

thank you for the hint about toggling the reports, but that is not the answer because after a restart or software upgrade you have to did it again.

there was a slight fix in a previous version, but that seems to have gone the way of poor programming and lack of QA.

  • Hi,

every day, two of the web reports are for two days ago and not yesterday. Now from memory if I change the report generation time to at least 2 hours after modnight the issue goes away. Originally when I created this report you could assign a time in small increments, but after the last update you can only assign a time at the hour mark.

I have changed the report from send at 24hr to send at 2 hours and watch for the result tomorrow.

  • Having changed the report creation from 24hr to 2 hr, I now only get one copy.

    Definitely a bug, ongoing bug.
