Port 2 offline, reboot hasn’t fixed

Morning all.

I’ve just installed a new Virgin Hub 3, set it to Modem Mode and rebooted, basically the same setup as I had before just a new contract.

My HP server connected to the Modem via Port2 but Sophos XG still reports the Port2 is down and I have no internet. Connected my MacBook via Ethernet to the modem and can connect to the net so that’s all working.

I’ve rebooted Sophos and the Server and still the same issue. Any suggestions please?

Thanks

  • Hi, everything is the same as before when it worked.

Literally changed the Hub 3 for a replacement one set to the same Modem mode as before.

    The Sophos is the same.

Port 2 says Connected but no IP address issued from the Hub.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

sounds very much like a MAC address issue. Does your isp lock your IP to a MAC address, or is it totally dynamic and you get a new address after each link failure?
