max Message size XG Sophos Anti SPAM Engine

Hi,

i've got a XG 310 (17.5.14) working in SMTP transparent proxy mode.

The settings for SMTP scanning are as follows:

Don't scan emails greater than: 30000 KB

Action for oversize emails : Reject

The problem is that when an E-Mail is received with size greater than 20 MB it is droped with the following mailer deamon message:

reply 550 Sophos Anti Spam Engine has blocked this Email because the message size exceeds the maximum allowed size.

Now the question why are mails greater than 20 MB are dropped. Where is the service "Sophos Anti Spam Engine" located? Is this a service running local in XG or is this service running remote at Sophos an there it is not possible to scan mails greater 20MB?

Could you please provide some more detail on the email flow? Was it inbound or outbound email?

Did you try to change the SMTP setting to allow email with 20MB?

it is regarding inbound email and all the settings that i can configure somewhere (relay agent, Mailserver)are set to SMTP max size 30 MB
