v18 KERBEROS and UPN instead of sAMAccountName

Cheers folks...

i've setup a fresh v18 in one of our customers deployements...

So far so good. BUT:

WAF Auth NTML based running, BUT using DANG sAMAccountName.... WTF !!!

Problem is... I have for example 2 users:

DisplayName Mail sAMAcoountname UPN
Max  Muster - Companyalias1 m.muster@company1.tld maxMuster m.muster@company1.tld
Max  Muster - Companyalias2 m.muster@company2.tld maxMuster1 m.muster@company2.tld

... users use UPN to login ... everywhere !!!! cause with DAMN v9UTM  I COULD USE UPN!

Now USING DAMN XG and v18 nothing works...

NTML works fine according to Logs...  BUT my wonderful kerberos is not...

SPNs are fine. Advanced Log outputs sth like:

initialize_kerberos(): gss_acquire_cred HOST/RZ1@xxx.LOCAL: No key table entry found for HOST/RZ1@xxx.LOCAL

i mean ... no .. .enough...

any ideas ?

Cheers,

Chris

  • .... yeah ... thanks for the quick reply...

I resolved the second issue by completely removing the kerberos config... like mentioned by  in the article you Provided..

So when i read the comments on the feature reqeuest... it is from 3 years ago and most of the folks in enterprise segment are still using UTM istead of XG caused by the lack of basic features... i mean common..

How can we partners, the so called channel of success from Sophos, accomplish success, when even the most basic features are frekin not working ?

, what are your thoughts on this ?

do you have a solution for these UPN problems ?

    Cheers to all of u..

  • Hi

UPN support will be integrated from XG 18.5 onward ( but no ETA with us) and no prefix as well.

  • Was on vacation and just got back.  Logging / username is answered by Vishal.

Were you still having a problem with logging in using Keberos?
