WebAdmin page just downloads "login.jsp" and then nothing happens

This just started happening yesterday.  I can no longer access the XG v18 WebAdmin page.  Each time I attempt to access it using iPad, iPhone or Mac it asks to download "login.jsp" then nothing happens.  I am going to try my Windows laptop next.  At the moment, I have no way of accessing the XG.

  • Hi,

I upgraded my iPad to the latest PADios version yesterday, tried to login and was successful. Sounds like you might have an anti-something blocking the webpage from loading.

  • Hello Ian,

Yes, my Apple devices all updated yesterday as well.

The XG didn't send me a back-up file overnight.  I tried pinging it this morning and nothing.  Obviously an issue with the XG.  I unplugged it for a few seconds and plugged it back in and now it is working.

This has not happened with previous versions of the XG or with the UTM that I can remember.

    Best regards.

  • Well I lost Webadmin access again this week.  This time the web browser gave a proxy error.  A restart didn’t work.  I decided to reinstall.  Installing the firmware went fine.  I couldn’t install the backup without strange errors (bus error) and the firewall freezing.  After a few attempts I selected “Reset to Factory Defaults”.  When it rebooted, it did not recognize the hard drive.  That made me consider that the hard drive was failing.  Luckily I had a spare hard drive.  After installing the new hard drive and reinstalling the firmware, the XG seems to be working normally.  It appears it was a faulty hard drive.

I thought that I would have had difficulty installing the firmware on a faulty hard drive.
