Sophos XG does not deliver messages to the mail server

Question

To test the Email protection function of the Sophos XG Firewall, I created a VM in Vmware, with SFOS v18 and performed all the settings following this manual docs.sophos.com/.../Help /en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/nsg/sfos/learningContents/Email_ProtectEmailsMTA.html 
 The WAN interface of Sophos XG, is on the same network as the mail server, messages do not reach the mail server, the router that is on the edge of the internet is forwarding packets from port 25 to the XG which has IP 10.2.0.100, the IP of the Mail Server is 10.2.0.110. 
 Does the Sophos XG Anti-Spam function only work if the email server is behind it? Doesn't it work if you're on the same WAN, side by side?

It started to work, I can't explain what it really helped to solve, but I opened all the ports on the router where Sophos XG goes through, restarted XG and then he started receiving messages and forwarding them to the email server.
