How to block FQDN sites in IPv6?

Hi folks,

I have been testing a block setup for a forum member in another thread and could not successfully complete the test because of what I see as limitation in IPv6.

What I am after is a method of using FQDN in IPv6 firewall rules.

Fails.

1/. you cannot add an FQDN to the destination field

2/. IPv6 addresses do not appear in the GUI when you check FQDN, only IP4. So you cannot even generate list of IPv6 addresses to add manually.

The site concerned is teamviewer.

Your thoughts and suggestions please.

Ian

  • Hello rfcat_vk,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

I have reached out to Product Management to get more information on this, as there is no mention of which version will support yet. Once I hear back from them I will update this thread, but yes at the moment this is not supported.
