Firmware 18.0.2 MR2

Hi support community,

Yesterday i installed a HA setup on the xg210 for a customer.

After the setup i was browsing the customers SophopID site and found 18.0.2 MR firmware, since i red no announcement, i found it a bit strange.
But since this was a new setup i installed it anyway.

Al went well until i did the MTA setup, after a few emails went trough i clicked on "mail spooler' and get a white page with the error "internal server error" i could not get out of this page. Even after re-logon the page went to internal server error. Yhe only thing i could do is reboot the device.

After reboot went to email and "mail spooler" and again internal server error.

I had to downgrade back to 18.0.1 MR1 to get the MTA working again. Unfortunately the backup i took could not be read back, wrong version.

So i had to reschedule the customer installation, and a days work down the drain.

Why is the 18.0.2 MR2 downloadable but no release notes or anything like that?

Please do not install this version until fixed.

Thanks

Kind regards,

Bart

  • Not sure if this information will be helpful, but it may be worth a look when you go back to re-install...

When you say you downgraded, did you re-install from USB or just re-boot the old firmware?

If the backup was taken just previously to updating to the 18.0.2 MR2 and if re-installed the same firmware version as was active when you took the backup, you may have needed to run a pattern update before the previous backup can be restored.

I had the same issue when I had to re-install one of my XGs

  • Further if you rolled back to mr1 the installed configuration would have become operational.

  • I went from 17.5.13 out of the box setup to 18.0.2, did the config, found the problem, uploaded 18.0.1, rebooted to this firmware, while booting it started migrating, on the console it says config was not compatible and booted with default settings.

After boot i tried restoring backup but also not compatible, i did not tried the pattern update before restoring.

The boxes are running now after i redid the config. So for now its oke.

I just wanted a warning of some kind for this firmware. Or some release notes about the update.

    Kind regards and thanks.
