Noobie - default firewall rules

Hi all. I'm anxiously awaiting my new hardware to get XG Firewall up and running.

I'm coming from a UniFi and Untangle background and was wondering how it compares as far as initial set up.

Does it have a batch of default firewall rules (any/accept/deny, etc.)? Mainly wondering if it's safe to make it live right away (home set up not work production environment). Obviously I will add new rules over time.

Thanks!

  • Hi,

the basic setup is to block all eg no rules. I am not sure about a hardware device, it might have generic allow some mail ports and anothervrule for general access.

You will need to refine and add your own rules.
