> sudo iptables –A 0.0.0.0 –j DROP

you can use firewall rules more effectively.

Any changes you make to iptables via command line will be overwritten at the next software update where as firewall rules stay between versions.

How often are updates performed usually ? One time a month ?

Can I adjust the frequency of updates ?

Hi,

updates (XG version) are random and you can disable automatic updates.

Using the GUI and firewall rules will also provide you a more visible list of blocked sites.
