sfos hotfix installs

To get a freshly provisioned XG SFOS 17.5.12 MR-12 up to the current HF062020.1 seems to requires waiting an unknown period of time for a few sequential versions of hotfixes to each install sequentially separately with a relatively lengthy interval in between each until it gets current.  These don't seem to download with pattern updates which can be done on demand.  "Allow auto-install of hotfixes" is enabled.  Is there a way to get an xg up to latest hotfix manually on demand?

  • Hello Momentum,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

If you download and install 17.5.13 this one contains the hotfixes HF051220.1 and HF052220.1 but the rest of them would only be applied via the auto-install hotfixes.

    Regards,

  • This is not helpful when we need to match a new xg to pair for HA for example on XG SFOS 17.5.12 MR-12 or 18.0.1 MR-1-Build396.   Potentially a long wait time with no visibility while the hotfixes each apply sequentially via a mystery process we can't control or initiate ourselves.

  • Hello Momentum

    Thank you for the follow-up!

I will pass your comments along.

    Regards,

  • This is really poor and disappointing from Sophos.

We have the same situation with a client with a critical production environment with to SG430 upgraded to SFOS.

They now have to wait an unknown amount of time to setup his HA for the hotfix to match on both devices...

There should be a way to manually deploy the exact hotfix necessary.

They cannot afford to have downtime, that's why they need the cluster working now.

  • Hi,

download v18.0.2 MR-2 manually then add to the XGs when both have the software, take one off line and run the upgrade process, the do the same to the pair. All hot fixes have been applied.
