Restore XG 17.5.12 Backup in v18 MR-1-Build396 (Hyper-V)

Before i migrate my XG 17.5.12 (runinng on SG210 Hardware) to XG v18 i would like to see and verify what happens with all these rules.

I have a Backup from XG17 but i can´t restore this to a XG v18 (fresh install into Hyper-V, with 8 NIC´s).

Do i need to register the XG18 in Trial mode or is there any limitation?

I found the Migration Matrix and the Matrix says : Yes but (If number of interface criteria is satisfied)

Note: The appliance you are restoring to, that is the destination device, can not be an SG model.

    Thank you for reaching out to the Comunity! 

    When you try to import the configuration backup, collect the following logs for further investigation:

    1.  applog.log

    2. CSC logs in debug. 

    Run this command to put the CSC in debug form the advanced shell: csc custom debug 

    Note: Use the same command to remove CSC from the debug.

    i tried and have two log files.

    applog.log says at the end

    Backup from SG210 cannot be restored on SF01V

    I have a backup from XG 17.5.12.
    It´s a SG210 Hardware, that right, but it´s running XG.

    Matrix says

    Backup Restore From SGXXP Appliance to XGXXP Appliance is Not Supported for XG85, XG105, XG115, XG125 and XG135
    but it is Supported for XG210, XG230, XG310, XG330, XG430, XG450, XG550, XG650 and XG750

    Any idea?

    I did one more test and hoped i could load the old config into a new XG 18

    I used the HW-17.5.12_MR-12-664.iso for a installation into a VirtualBox Machine with 8GB and 127GB of HDD.

    The installer loads fine and i am able to logon, but it looks like the HW Appliance doesnt want to find any NIC in a VirtualBox.
    Is there any way to enable the Virtual Box Intel 82545EM NIC inside this Linux 3.14.22

    We would require to have the logs asked in the first reply to find the problem. 

    Please collect the CSC logs in debug and applog.log and send them to me via PM for further investigation.

    Thanks Patel,

    after i added some more NIC´s to the Hyper-V XG18 is was able to restore the backup from a SG210r1 (no FlexiPorts).

    I have a total 9 NIC in the Hyper-V Switch Manager and the restore was possible.
