Sophos XG stops trying to reconnect to pppoe

Hi there,

with 17.5 MR12, we started see mentioned problem.

What we see in the SYSTEM log is,

  • ADSL&VDSL connection has becoming lost.
  • Appliance tries to sent PADI/RADI packet to pppoe interface.
  • it stops trying after a while.
  • then it is necessary to start the pppoe connection manually from web ui.

I have encountered this problem in three of my customers so far. Appliances was XG 86, 106 and 115. What should I do if I encounter this problem? Thank you.

    I have the same issue on 50 devices.

    If the PPPOE connection goes down for some reason (microcut for exemple), the XG will NOT reconnect and we have to reboot it (or connect on web ui and click on "connect", but some of those clients don't have another wan link, so the web ui is not available remotely if the main PPPOE connection is down...)

     

    This is verry bad that such a big problem has never been corrected by Sophos, 100% of the devices are concerned about this issue.

     

    Sophos, Do something !

  • Same problem here.

    After long disruptions of service of micro interruction the Sophos XG does not recconect automatically.

    This is big issue on a scenario with a single WAN and no failover.
