Sophos XG stops trying to reconnect to pppoe

Hi there,

with 17.5 MR12, we started see mentioned problem.

What we see in the SYSTEM log is,

  • ADSL&VDSL connection has becoming lost.
  • Appliance tries to sent PADI/RADI packet to pppoe interface.
  • it stops trying after a while.
  • then it is necessary to start the pppoe connection manually from web ui.

I have encountered this problem in three of my customers so far. Appliances was XG 86, 106 and 115. What should I do if I encounter this problem? Thank you.

  • I am having the same problem on my home XG that is connected to the VDSL router of the provider. Every night around 01.50 the provider reset the router and  2/3 times a week the XG stop trying to connect to the line. If I reboot the router of the provider the XG is non able to reconnect, the only solution is to start the PPPoE connection manually from web ui.

    The XG is running v18 MR-1-Build396 but the same problem was present also with version 17.5 MR12
