Hi
I have a Sophos XG125 on SFOS 17.5.12.
We use Microsoft Teams. Some of the videos that can be accessed through Microsoft Teams have been uploaded to Microsoft Stream. The videos can be watched through the Microsft Stream website (https://web.microsoftstream.com/). They can also be watched through the Microsoft Teams website (https://teams.microsoft.com/). However, when one of these videos is viewed through the Microsoft Teams desktop client application, Sophos is blocking the video.
Using the Log Viewer, I have been able to determine that the display of the video is being blocked by the Psiphon Proxy application filter. This image shows the entries in the Application Filter log:
Looking up the destination IP address, 51.141.30.119 is in a Microsoft Azure datacentre, which makes sense.
I don't want to stop blocking Psiphon Proxy in the application filter.
I don't know the internal working of how Application Filters are applied, but it would seem that Sophos is incorrectly classifying legitimate traffic for Microsoft Teams as being Psiphon Proxy. I don't know if Sophos can fix this.
What is the best method of overcoming this so that the videos can be viewed? I suppose I could add a firewall rule with a different application filter policy specifically for this destination IP, but this is very inconvenient. Any other suggestions?
Regards
David
