Hello together,
maybe I am wrong, but yesterday I installed a xg115w at customer site and i got an unexpected behavior regarding zone configuration.
I added a wifi network which is bridged to ap lan (so lets consider its 192.168.2.0/24)
Then I added the Wifi network (lets call ist customer_wifi) to the Bridge with default members port 1,3,4.
So it ends up in this:
(The grey thing is the real wifi network name)
The Wifi Network is defined as Zone LAN.
So I created a rule to to go out to WAN from zone LAN with a defined Network Alias for 192.168.2.0/24.
The rule works as expected, from a client connected trough wifi, i can reach destination located in WAN.
BUT, I can not reach destinations which are located in my cabled lan (as I said, same subnet: 192.168.2.0/24)
To get these working, I have to create a rule that allows traffic from Zone WIFI to Zone LAN.
That behavior seems to not make sense because:
1. All Clients are in the same subnet
2. The AP is bridged to VLAN where all the clients are located
3. the outgoing rule for WAN is working even if there is no Zone WIFI defined
Correct me if I am wrong but, if its by design, why do I not need to add Zone WIFI to my outgoing rule to WAN ?
Kind regards,
Felix
