Backup incomplete in v18 / missing URL Group entrys

Situation:

- Dead XG135 REV2

- RMA XG135 REV2 (reimaged after delivery)

Due a hardware failure at a customers side, we discovered a bug inside of the backup handling. Running Firmware SFOS 18.0.0 GA-Build379

After we got an RMA Device (wich we have reimaged to SFOS 18.0.0 GA-Build379) and installed the backup file, we discovered some trouble on SSL/TLS Inspection.

A detailed Investigation shows up, that URL Group: Local TLS exclusion list was empty.

We have tried that a second time on different Hardware, with the same result. Seems to be, not all informations are stored in the backup.

At the moment we try to figure out, if there are more gaps during a backup.

Does anyone discovered similar issues?

    Hi

What was the firmware version on the firewall when you took the configuration backup?

    Thanks,

  • Hi

i can provide the Backupfile and access to the appliance where i downloaded it from (it is still in my LAB here).

But due security we should share this due a support case to keep privacy to my customer.

    What do you think?

  • Please open a Support Case and link it to this Case. Could be a "bug".

There could be two different scenarios: Forgot to backup this certain feature (unlikely) or something in your TLS URL Group fails to be restored and therefore the object stays empty / The backup process could not store the Content into the backup.

Do you know the exact content of your URL Group?

    Hi

I tried to replicate your issue in my LAB XG firewall running with v18.0.1 MR1-Build396. I have added URLs in the Local TLS exclusion list and downloaded configuration backup.

I can still see the added URL after uploading the backup file.

If you can replicate this issue on your firewall, I would advise you to create a support case and PM me the case number for further investigation.

    Thanks,
