v18 Roadmap?

Now that v18 MR1 seems to be stable and working well.

What new and improved features can we expect in future releases?

  • The whole VPN client stuff at the XG is a mess!

Can't edit the ipsec policies and the reauth time for users, but hey the sophos support tells us "it's ok to reauth twice or more a day"!?

The new Sophos Connect 2.0 is only early access and only for windows. What About MacOS?

The only answer is: "on the roadmap".

We're using the XG since 2018 and there was not a single technical improvement to our small network with about 80 users, which could make the daily work easier.

Standard features are just not delivered.

We really think about to switch to barracuda when the sophos subscription ends.

  • Hi folks,

from a post somewhere in history the comment was passed by someone that most of the forum members are either home users, small business and thus do not feature greatly in the focus of the XG development teams. Though having said that some of the suggestions submitted would be beneficial to all users.

I see the NTP request is back in the list which is strange considering last time it was rejected by Sophos which is sad.

The XG is everything except a useful appliance for small business and enterprise networks.

Have a look at fortigate or barracuda with their vpn clients. It's seamless and easy to deploy.

We talking about the middle of 2020 not 2010 !

    Sorry it's quiet frustrating.

  • Hi,

I am just the messenger, so please do not shoot me.

I think you will find that the enterprise business is what keeps this company going, not the small business users. So, based on that there must be something in the XG they are happy with, maybe just cost?

  • I have no idea.

If the XG fails with the easiest standard features, how could enterprise users are fine with it?
