XG450 out of the box RAID

we received an XG450 Appliance today.

during first boot, I've noticed that there is no RAID configured (see screenshot)

is this how it is supposed to be?

Does XG do some kind of software RAID instead?

I'm pretty sure that SG450s used the internal RAID controller and RAID 1 was configured.

if so, is there a way to check an existing XG450, which is already in installed (this appliance will be the Auxillary) remotely if RAID is configured or not?

  • I was able to check the already installed Appliance.

There is also no RAID configured.

    Please clarify.

    - Should there be a RAID 1 configured?

    if yes

    - is it possible to configure RAID 1 without losing the configuration?

    if no

    - how is redundancy achieved in case of a disc failure?   (please provide some sort of evidence like tech sheet or linux commands..)
