DHCP setting for solely static mapping

Hello there,

I'm new to Sophos and I just wondered how to handle a use case of providing a list of static mappings with MAC addresses and only those will be able to connect ( so actually no DHCP lease and ofc no connection by setting IP manually from an unmapped MAC address )

And how can I prevent certain DHCP "pools" from accessing Sophos interface in such case?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

you will need to create a DHCP server for the interface with a a minimal range eg 192.168.99.5 to 192.168.99.6 and then you can assign/add MAC based addresses to the server.

To stop other IP adds ranges you specify the network with the IP address of your DHCP server. If you wish to limit access even further you create clienteles acmes for each of you statically assigned devices and then add that clienteles group to the allowed users access.
