WAF IPv6 Support in v18 not available?

Dear all,

I'm currently testing IPv6 connectivity with SFOS 18.0.0 GA-Build379 and found that it is not possible to create a WAF rule from within the IPv6 firewall rules. I only have the options Reject, Drop and Accept - "Protect with web server protection" is not available:

Within an IPv4 firewall rule I also don't seem to be able to make use of IPv6 since "Allowed client networks" is restricted to IPv4 hosts only:

Is it correct that we cannot publish a webserver with WAF over IPv6 in version 18? I only found knowledgebase article https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/125471 for version 16 which states that IPv6 support for WAF is not available, however that's for version 16 from the end of 2016.

If correct that this is still not implemented in v18: Is it planned to include this in a next update of version 18?

Thanks
Michael

  • Thanks Vishal,

I also noticed that translating from IPv4 to IPv6 and vice versa does not seem to be possible either (i.e.: accessing RDP on an XG IPv4 address and forwarding it to an internal IPv6 server by the use of NAT). Is that correct as well and does exist a feature request for this too?

    Thanks
    Michael
