Would you still get Sophos XG for Home usage?

I am currently researching a firewall solution for home usage. I currently have Ubiquiti AmpliFi mesh router at home and I am looking for better visibility and protection for the kids internet usage.

Important features I am looking:

  • Block distracting sites (YouTube, etc) during homework and school time
  • Block Ads
  • Block adult content and inappropriate sites on the kids devices only



Would you still get Sophos XG Free Home if you were starting over? Do you think it is better in comparison with Untangle or pfSense?

 

What hardware do you recommend? I was looking at Protectli or Qotom. Would they be good choices?

    Hi,

    yes I would. Imoved from the uTM to the XG.

    To add further to Prism's response you will need to add some form of user control to stop takeover of other user's IP addresses eg clientlees users and static IP addressing.
