Hi,
last weekend I'll upgraded our XGs from 17.5.9 to 17.5.12. I'll also upgraded the RED Firmware to 3.0.000.
After the upgrade all configured vlan interfaces on our red50 devices coming up after an FW reboot or cluster takeover without IPs. Only the main IP on the non VLAN interface for the red50s are having an IP assigned.
Here is an example from the ifconfig:
Non VLAN IF with assigned IP:
reds8 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
inet addr:10.xxx.xxx.xxx Bcast:10.xxx.xxx.xxx Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fexx::2xx:83xx:fexx:60xx/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:7907 errors:0 dropped:69 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:8315 errors:0 dropped:28 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:804060 (785.2 KiB) TX bytes:798240 (779.5 KiB)
VLAN Interface without assigned IP:
reds8.1xx Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
inet6 addr: fexx::2xx:8xxx:fxxx:6xxx/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:160 errors:0 dropped:4 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:7 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:27634 (26.9 KiB) TX bytes:738 (738.0 B)
On reds8.1xx the inetaddr entry is missing.
on the networkd.log are the occuring the following entrys:
INFO ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; LINK_RED ; Interface= reds8, command= Flush;
INFO ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; LINK ; interface = reds8.1xx;
INFO ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; LINK ; parent_ifname = reds8;
INFO ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; IP ; interface = reds8.1xx;
INFO ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; ND_MAIN ; ioctl: interface 'reds8';
ERROR ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; LINK_VLAN ; Parent interface 'reds8' does not exist on system;
ERROR ; May 16 23:17:11 ; ADMIN ; LINK_VLAN ; Prerequisits for vlan interface 'reds8.1xx' failed;
This happens for all VLAN Interfaces on red devices.
When Ill go to the affected red50 Network main interface on the webadmin an click save, then all VLANs on the red50 getting an IP address assigned.
This happens after every reboot and cluster takeover of the Firewall.
You can imagine, what are the effects for the production sites behind the affected RED VLANs.
FloSupport: If you reading this, Ill have an case Number for you. ;)
