Lag (Active Backup)

Hello Team

I user the Lag on Sophos with active and backup and i set the Primary interface to be auto . I want to know dependent on what the firewall will select the active link .

Primary Interface (Available only if Mode selected is Active-Backup )

Select an interface to be the primary interface. This interface remains active as long as it is available.

Default: Auto

The interfaces included in the member interface list are listed here. If you set the Primary Interface to Auto, the device selects any interface from the member interface list as the primary interface.

I want to know in default : auto

dependent on what sophos will select the active primary interface

Hello

I am sorry but it doesn't make any sense their is must be an algorithm which the firewall used to select the primary in the auto mode .

As we have shared details in previous responses, it will select it randomly.

If you set the Primary Interface to Auto, the device selects any interface from the member interface list as the primary interface. Mentioned in the document as well, which we have provided.
