IPS + VPN CLIENT = Best Appliance ?

I have a project to install a Sophos Firewall. The operation of this sophos will be specifically for customers' VPN.
I have an average of 400 users, and I'm thinking of using L2TP VPN or Sophos Connect.

My client asked us to activate IPS over these VPNs. I know that IPS consumes a lot of SFOS hardware, I need to understand what the best box should be available for my client, or understand how troughput works in order to inform the best appliance to be purchased.

is there a magic recipe that helps to discover this information? :P

I would suggest that you contact a reseller/partner who can provide a lot of details and ask a lot of questions regarding your requirements.
