Wifi not detected on SG135w

Hi folks,

based on this KB: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/122869 the SG135w rev.2 is eligible for an XG Upgrade. So flashing and setup worked as expected.

However, embedded Wifi is not detected.

Anything I can do or troubleshoot?

    Hello User1148,

    I got confirmation from the XG product manager about this and he confirmed that it is not exactly disabled, but to run a home license on XG hardware, you must re-install it with the software iso, which doesn't support on box wireless.

    In other words built-in wireless doesn't work with home licenses.

    Thank you for the confirmation.

    Based on your answer, is this assumption correct: To get this working, we will need the Licensed Full Version of the XG Firewall?

     

    If that is the case (just some honest feedback at this point...), I am a little bit unhappy about the way Home XG is "presented", as there are definitely some strings attached, then. Since we do have active licenses, its not a problem for us but I now lost quite some time with the assumption that I could do a smoke test using the Home License, just to find out that it is not fully featured.

    Hi,

    I would suggest you would be better off with a trial licence, talk to your reseller/partner to ensure what the limitations are.
