Integrating window Server 2016 GPO with Sophos XG firewall

I have set up Sophos XG firewall as the gateway for the internet with firewall policies for users browsing the internet and also for QoS. Now I wanted to integrate it with Windows Server 2016 Group Policy so as to Manage the Devices and also with Domain Controller. I have resolved the AD part but I cannot find a way to add any device or user to log in on a device so as to join the Domain Controller. Please can anyone help with this.

  • Hello,

Kindly refer below article to enable strict authentication:

When strict authentication is enabled, and when users start browsing, they will be prompted with web based authentication page(captive portal).

Upon successful login to the portal with AD credentials, user will be automatically created on XG.

  • Thank you so much for your time. i was able to configure the users on AD to log in through Captive Portal. This are what i finally wanted to achive

    1. Windows Server Should be distributing DHCP not Sophos XG Firewall (sophos is configure as the gateway for internet)

    2. Wanted all device that have log on to also appear in the AD so that the GPO from Windows Server will get to all device or client.

    Thanks for your attention.
