how to configure IPS Policies for internal lan in a 210/230xg

I would need to configure intrusion prevention between corporate LAN clients and sevrers of the same LAN, but under intrusion prevention -> IPS Policies I can't find the LAN to LAN entry. The servers and the PCs are under the same network class and the internal lan traffic currently does not pass through the firewal.

There is no LAN to LAN preconfigure IPS policy template available as per your requirement, but you may use generalpolicy IPS policy to apply on the firewall rule or you can create a custom policy - https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/v16058/Help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/index.html#page/onlinehelp%2FIpsPolicyEdit.html%23

Hi,

ok but through generalpolicy how it is possible to activate an IPS inspection layer 2 between clients and servers belonging to the same network class

Hi Luca Zibelli

If they are a part of the same subnet the traffic will never reach to the firewall and directly served through the switch as Layer 2 communication.
