Licensing

Question

Hi All 
 I have sophos xg 210 firewall hardware appliance and i want it to use for HQ and for branches i want to use Virtual appliances can i use my subscription and licenses i purchased for the hardware appliance for the virtual also ?

Hi, 
 you will need a licence for each site and then software licence is different to a hardware licence. Software licences are based on the number IP addresses where as hardware licences are unlimited IP addresses.

You have a base license in XG, which generally speaking allows the firewall rule / NAT, Wireless and VPN. 
 So to speak you could purchase another virtuell base license without subscription for the other branches and build a VPN to use the protection features in the HQ. 
 You cannot decouple the subscription of the hardware to use on the Software.
