Access Share Folder via Remote Access SSL VPN

Hey Nidz,

I do this all the time but I found the VPN user / pass should be their AD credentials as that way it uses the Security on the share folder and maps fine.

If you dont I found it didnt always map it well.

I also added a small batch file to remap onto the users desktop so if they had logged onto the PC without being connected to the VPN they could initiate a map after connecting the VPN

Thanks for the reply. still im struggling for this scenario and also im searching online since last night for the solution but still dont have the luck.

actually their vpn username/password is theirAD credentials. Hope you can assist me on this issue.

Hi Nidz,

The username and password for sslVPN is one thing and the login and password for Windows participation is the other. After setting up the sslVPN channel, you can execute a mapping script on your home computer, eg: "net use R: \\ <server IP> \ SHARE / user: login password / persistent: no". For greater security, the net use command should be without the user: option, then the user will be asked for login details. If your firewall's VPN rules allow this, you should be able to access the share.

Have you set your domain name and internal DNS server in the SSL VPN parameters? it's under Configure > VPN > Show VPN Settings. That will allow people to map drives etc using the machine name.

Yes... The domain name and dns is setup to be the dns use by the VPN client.

Is it full tunnel or split tunnel SSL VPN configuration? 

When SSL Remote VPN user try to access shared drives on internal network, try to monitor traffic on remote users IP address by following this KB Article : Sophos XG Firewall: How to monitor traffic using packet capture utility in the GUI and share the output.

Sorry for the late reply guys. Its a split tunnel anyhow found the solution to this issue though still im not sure. I create separate user for the VPN client because the previous one i used to authnticate them through AD user. Now everything is working find. Thanks for all your support and suggestions.
