  • Hi,

I would suggest you do a search of the XG forums, there are plenty of similar requests.

A quick summary though, quad core very fast CPU, (not I5 or I7), 6gb ram and a minimum of 2 NICs

  • I dont get ya a little bit. "Quad-Core" not i5 i7 ? So i3 should be good ? Ofcourse with aes-in

  • Hi Roman,

There is no need for the maths core of the I series processors, just overhead heat, a very fast celeron 3ghz or greater is more than adequate for home use.

    Does that make sense.

As you can see from my signature I use an E3, because it was cheaper, lower power and was able to get a small motherboard (server without all the PC overhead chips).

  • AES-IN will be a great idea regarding to if you using DPI. Isnt it ?  I know that is overkill but from my perspective its better to have more instead of less ^^

At im using IPS SslInspection AV webfilterring etc.

  • Hi Roman,

that would be nice, but the current home version does not use AES-NI. There is a thread about it but no-one from Sophos has added any value. My e3 has AES-NI.
