auth_execute_he high CPU usage

Hello there,

I'm seeing higher cpu usage in my home firewall after the update to V18, from 6-7% to over 50%. Sometimes it goes down to near 20% but not for long. I expected an increased CPU usage with v18 but I think that really exceeds my expectations. So far I've been looking for the cause and I've seen an high CPU usage from auth_execute_he as in the image below.

I can't figure out what this process is related to, any ideas?

I've also tried to stop it, no service interruption warning and everything works fine. CPU usage dropped to 20% peak.

  • Hi

Unfortunately TOP cuts off the process name.  It seems to me like the process name is related to the Heartbeat functionality of the XG.  Unfortunately that is all I can give you based on the limited information at hand.

Can you run the following command in the "Advance Console": ps -w | grep "auth_execute*" and then PM me the output or paste it here if you want.

    Thanks!
